Curriculum

Harrison Primary School’s curriculum is underpinned by our School’s vision. Our aim is to engage all children through a challenging and stimulating curriculum, so that they are excited to learn and thus develop a life long love of learning.

Year teams have organised their curriculum around overarching themes through which all subjects in the primary curriculum are taught.  Daily mathematics and English lessons focus on high quality learning of essential key skills needed to become independent learners who are confident and resilient. These skills can thus be applied in meaningful contexts in other curriculum areas, using information communication technology as a tool to enhance learning.

Please follow the links to each year group’s page to read more about the curriculum your children will be experiencing.

The new national Primary Curriculum was implemented in September 2014. Please follow the link for more information: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/national-curriculum
