Job/Person Summary

The successful candidate will be committed to supporting children’s learning and have a good understanding of how to support the development of children as confident, independent individuals.


This position will be working with a Year 3 pupil who requires support with learning, concentration and emotional needs. Previous experience of supporting children in a school with special educational needs is essential. You will be working in close partnership with the class teacher as well and under the overall direction of the SENCo.


We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner for ** hours per week on a temporary basis initially.

You will be:

  • enthusiastic, positive and resourceful
  • able to nurture, inspire, motivate and challenge pupils in order to secure high standards for all pupils
  • able to implement clear boundaries and routines using calm, positive behaviour management strategies
  • able to work independently and have good organisational skills
  • able to provide modelling and scaffolding to support children’s engagement
  • able to work as part of the year team under the guidance of the year leader and class teacher to raise attainment and deliver one to one support
  • competent in mathematics and English skills (GCSE grade C or above or equivalent)
  • have a working knowledge of the curriculum and the ability to break down learning into small steps.

Midday Supervisory Assistant

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, One hour a day between 12 noon and 1.30 pm t.b.a

Job/Person Summary

We are looking to appoint two calm, friendly and enthusiastic people to join our existing dedicated team of supervisory assistants.  The successful applicants will be working with a very supportive, fun team and will be an important member of the school structure.

You will need to be flexible, ideally have experience of working with children, ensure confidentiality and safeguarding is given high regard and be willing to undertake basic first aid training.

Main duties will include

  • Effectively supervising pupils in the lunch hall, outside on the playground or in their classrooms during wet lunch breaks.
  • Encouraging positive play by leading a range of playground games.
  • Ensuring the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils
  • Promoting healthy eating
  • Ensuring any issues are dealt with in a positive and thoughtful manner and that where appropriate deciding which issues should be raised with relevant staff.
  • Assisting with associated duties, e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean etc.
  • Basic First Aid – training will be provided.
