World Book Day
Due to adverse weather conditions today 1st March, ‘World Book Day’ at Harrison has been rescheduled to Friday 9th March. In order to celebrate we are asking the children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and if possible to bring the book with them to share with their class, as we would like to take a photo of them to create book bunting for the library.
In order to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of World Book Day, we are also taking part in the nationwide challenge "100 Million Minutes." Every day the children will be reading in class and we will be logging these minutes at the end of school. The children can read whatever they choose and it would be great for them to bring a book of their choice from home to enjoy during this time. This challenge starts on 1st March and runs until the end of March.
Finally from 27th February to 5th March we will be holding a Book Fair after school in the School Library from 3.30pm to 4pm, in order to raise money for new books for our classroom book corners, we look forward to seeing you there. As the book fair is being provided by "The Book People", we will be unable to accept the children's book tokens here due to the books already being heavily discounted.
We look forward to sharing World Book Day 2018 with you!
