Dear Parents and Carers
We thank you wholeheartedly for your interest in Harrison Primary School and were really looking forward to welcoming you this week.
On advice from the UK Health Security Agency, the Department for Education and local authority it is with great regret that we have decided to cancel our ‘Open After Hours’ sessions scheduled for Thursday 4th and Monday 15th November 2021.
We are truly sorry that we cannot welcome you into school at this time; we know that you need to ‘see and feel’ the essence of a school in order to make an informed choice for your child and we want you to join our community. Therefore we have asked our Year 6 pupils to create a virtual ‘guided tour’ of Harrison in which you can see our school working on a typical day – you will hear what they have to say about our school and how it feels to learn and grow here. This film will be uploaded to our school website soon.
Hampshire County Council is aware of significant numbers of positive cases in school aged children across Hampshire and greater incidence in schools locally. All schools have been advised to implement additional measures, such as limiting open days, thus we have taken the decision not to invite potential new parents into Harrison this week.
Understandably, we have to prioritise the safety of our whole community; this includes potential new families, our current cohorts and the Harrison team. The previous half term has been very challenging but we have managed to keep the school open despite rising COVID cases.
We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and are disappointed not to be able to meet you as planned. At present, our current parent/carers are not coming into school either,.
Please keep an eye on our website for the short film we will be uploading soon that will hopefully give you a sense of what Harrison is all about.
