We hope that everyone is managing to stay safe and well during these extraordinary times. The Harrison team is well.
I can honestly say that we are finding this new way of life as strange as you are. School is open every day for children of keyworkers - we are running care provision for children whilst their parents are at work. This is not school as we know it however.
We hope that you have been able to make the most of the home learning activities that the team is working hard to keep updated. We are trying to prepare activities that are most suited to home learning. We advise you to do what you can, when you can - please do not try to overburden yourselves or your children with a full day of learning or try to replicate the school timetable. We really believe that this is precious family time that children need to remember for the right reasons.
We know that learning looks very different at home to school - teachers normally teach 30 children at a time which is nothing like being at home with your own children. We understand how difficult it may be - trying to keep your children's learning topped up, juggling having children at home and trying to work, in addition to keeping looking after your home, family and others, staying safe and happy.
Thank you to everyone who has been sending messages and photos to the year group gmail accounts - the team really do want to hear how you are.
Over the next two weeks - by Friday 1st May - class teachers will make phone calls to each family. This will be to say 'Hello', speak with you and your children, and check in with you and see if we can help with home learning. These will not be pupil progress meetings but a chance to keep in touch and maintain contact - we are missing you too.
The team will be calling from the school number - 01329 234016 or from home - please look out for 'blocked number/unknown' callers. We will call you between school hours, 9 am - 3.30 pm.
We hope to be able to get in touch with everyone and look forward to talking to you soon.
If you have any queries related to home learning in the meantime please use the year group emails below.
Or if you are a Year R parent please contact your child's teacher via Tapestry.
In the meantime keep safe and well.
