Dear parents and carers
We are on the last stretch towards the end of term and are almost there. I appreciate how 'trying' the last few months have been for everyone - at home and at school.
As yet we seem to be COVID-free and will endeavour to keep every class open until next Friday.
I had hoped that we might be less focussed on the daily COVID case numbers however it is proving to be extremely difficult to keep all classes open. We have a large number of staff who are self-isolating due to track and trace alerts, just as other schools and sectors are experiencing.
We have received a letter today from Simon Bryant, FFPH Director of Public Health, Hants, who has confirmed that the number of cases is rising particularly quickly within school aged children.
We will continue to act carefully and remain cautious as restrictions are eased and are doing all we can to help control further spread of the virus. Despite national restrictions being eased we will continue to follow local authority guidance to protect everyone:
School bubbles will be kept intact until the end of term.
And now for some more positive news:
Transition: children will meet their new teachers on Tuesday 20th July - outside.
Reports: will go out to parents on Tuesday 20th July.
Next term: a full update regarding staffing and arrangements for next term will be sent home next week.
School Streets - every child has been given a map of our school's area today which reminds our community of the Harrison Road closure next week. Please use 'park and stride' for everyone's sake. A copy is also attached to this email.
I know that we are all becoming a bit weary of the need for social distancing and the pandemic restrictions however we have a duty to keep our school community safe. David Moorman and I want to ensure that we have done all we can to ensure the Harrison team and our school community gets a break and can do what they want after 23rd July.
Many thanks for your support in anticipation.
Sara Gmitrowicz & David Moorman.
