Bookings are now open for ‘Family Links’ Nurturing Programme - September 2022

Dear parents and carers

Bookings are now open for ‘Family Links’ Nurturing Programme - September 2022
We are now inviting Harrison parents and carers to book a place on our next ‘Family Links’
Nurturing Programme, which will start after the summer holiday in September 2022.
This programme is suitable for families with children of all ages, from babies through to teenagers.

This is a 10-week course that aims to provide parents and carers with strategies and support for families across the areas of empathy, positive discipline, appropriate expectations and self-awareness.

This course will take place face-to-face between 6-8pm over a 10-week period. It is free to attend, and open to everyone.

The 'Family Links' Nurturing Programme is a friendly and supportive group that aims to help adults understand and manage feelings and behaviour, to support them to become more positive and nurturing in their relationships with children and each other. It encourages an approach to relationships that improves the emotional health of both adults and children and strengthens family relationships.

If you would like to find out more please register your interest with for the introductory session to be held at school on Monday 12th September 2022 at 6pm.

As explained the programme will run for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 19th September 2022 with a week’s break for October half term. Each session will be from 6-8pm at school, with the information session being slightly shorter from

We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to parents again having successfully run the 'Family Links’ Nurture Programme at Harrison since 2017. We have been delighted with how well the Programme has been received previously. What starts as a group of relative strangers quickly becomes
a supportive group of parents who find they can work together to consider family life, children’s behaviour and learn simple, positive parenting approaches that can make a huge difference within our homes. This is what some previous group members have said about the programme:

“The Nurturing Programme makes you realise that you are not alone and that no one is perfect. It’s not rocket science but makes you take a step back and think. It has made a real difference to day to day life.”

“This course has been a life saver! It has transformed my family. I have learnt a lot about myself too - how to be calmer in stressful situations, not fire up and get anxious.”

“I would strongly encourage anyone to take the course - the atmosphere was great, the course was explained very well and it was fun as well as informative.”

“The course has been delivered in an inclusive, welcoming, calm and fun manner, and benefits from being beautifully planned and carefully thought through. I would encourage any parent to take part as you learn so much, share in so many experiences, and the course covers such a broad spectrum. I have found it to be a very positive, rewarding, enlightening and enjoyable experience.”

Please note, these sessions are for parents or carers of Harrison Primary School children only. Sadly we cannot offer a creche at this time.
